The Move Bike rentals, and its specific rental business affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively, “we,” or “us”) are Data Controllers for the purposes of this Privacy Policy (“Policy”). This Policy describes how we treat information that identifies, or can be used to identify, you as an individual (“Personal Information”) that we collect in connection with our vehicle rental business offline and through our websites and other online platforms where this Policy is located (we refer to these online platforms collectively as our “Platform”).

This Policy does not apply to:

  • Our collection of employment-related Personal Information.

  • Personal information collected by the network of licensees operated by us. We operate a network of licensees in provision of our services worldwide and are affiliated to many other companies through ownership. These licensees, affiliates and entrusted third-party vendors are independent companies, and they are not owned or controlled by us or covered by this Policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of our licensees or other similar third parties with whom you may transact.

  • Information that is not Personal Information or does not individually identify you, such as aggregated or anonymized data, aggregated preferences, vehicle identification numbers or GPS or telematics information that is not associated with your identity or used to identify you.

This may also include information received from a dashboard camera or information received from original manufacturers (OEMs).

  • From Third Parties. We may receive information about you from other sources. For example, this may include receiving information from:

  • Our corporate partners, such as corporate discount program sponsors (including sponsors of employer/corporate rate plans and credit card and travel club discount programs) or corporate membership program participants.

  • Our business partners, including licensees, assigns, advertisers, analytics companies, booking channel providers, advertising networks, social media sites, companies that offer joint promotions with us or companies with which we collaborate to provide products and services, and companies that help us learn more about our customers, such as consumer reporting agencies, data brokers and data aggregators.

This may also include providing options related to refueling and imposing fees following a rental.

  • For Accommodations Purposes. For example, this may include accommodating special medical needs (e.g., hand controls) and providing sickness protection.

  • To Run and Improve Our Business. We may use your information to analyse and improve our Platform, products and services. This may also include using your information for business administration purposes, such as for accounting, claims administration, dispute resolution, record keeping, legal, systems operations and administration, and other administrative purposes. This may also include using your Personal Information to provide our loyalty program. We may also use personal information to improve the content of our messaging and understand how you interact with our communications or our Platform. This may also include maintaining our fleet of vehicles, such as to locate the vehicle during your rental if the vehicle is lost, stolen, or overdue, to determine the time of the vehicle’s departure from and return to our rental location and to estimate the levels of fuel in the vehicle’s tank upon its return to our rental location.

  • To Communicate With You. This may include responding to your feedback or providing customer support. It may also include responding to your inquiries and questions. We may communicate with you about your account or our relationship. We may also contact you about this Policy or our Platform terms and conditions.

  • To Understand Your Interests. This may include understanding what products and services may be of interest to you or remembering your preferences. This may also include customizing your experience with us.

  • To Determine Your Identity or Eligibility. This may include confirming your identity in connection with our car rental services. This may also include evaluating your eligibility for our products and services and taking actions to suspend or terminate your ability to continue to rent vehicles or suspend or terminate your accounts with us.

  • For Marketing Purposes. We may provide you with marketing communications about promotions, our company and our products and services. This may also include using your information to personalize your experience on our Platform and with our products. We may also engage in cross-contextual advertising and retargeting.     The Internet is not 100% secure. We cannot promise that your use of our Platform will be completely safe. We encourage you to use caution when using the Internet. We use reasonable means to safeguard Personal Information under our control. We use reasonable administrative, technical, personnel, and physical measures that are designed to safeguard and ensure the integrity of Personal Information. To help us protect your privacy, you should maintain the confidentiality of any logon IDs and passwords, member numbers, or other identifiers or credentials you may have set up or that were provided in connection with your participation in or use of our products, services, or websites.
